The starting locations for each mission were scattered throughout the city, including the Wolfs International Realty Offices, Satellite Relay Station/IAA Facility, Little Seoul, FIB Headquarters, Rex's Diner, Trevor's Trailer, and more.

The mod would have also included a brand new casino heist, featuring all three protagonists. However, this episode was not limited to just the heist - it would have also included a series of scripted solo player missions, with estimates ranging from 12 to 20 hours of new content.

Unfortunately, the Zombie Apocalypse mod was cancelled due to Rockstar's increased focus on GTA Online and other projects, such as Red Dead Redemption II. In an interview with GameInformer in October 2017, Imran Sarwar, then-director of design, confirmed that the DLC was indeed cancelled.

Despite being cancelled, remnants of the Zombie Apocalypse mod can still be found in the game's files. Scripts and coordinates for the missions were unintentionally implemented into the game with the 1.13/1.14 patch. Fans have been working to uncover more details about the mod, including its storyline and gameplay mechanics.
